THC-rich products are the ticket – and coverage doesn’t often come easy!

There are many things to consider.

Cannabis – often referred to by its Spanish name, “marijuana” – is making its return to the legal economy across the country on a state-by-state basis.

Since it’s still considered federally illegal, however, there are many carriers who won’t consider writing coverage for it – or even for the building it’s housed in if it’s just a building owner.

General Liability (GL) is the first hurdle to overcome – if a carrier won’t write the GL, they likely won’t write any of the other coverages either.

Products Liability is even more important; this is for failures in the products themselves, such as impurities in extracts or physical faults in the devices used.

Property coverage, on the other hand, often comes in 3 waves: building coverage, improvements & betterments, and cannabis stock.
